Interstate Rescue is searching for a highly motivated individual to serve as a Product and Apparatus Specialist in Virginia. The ideal candidate will have five years of fire-rescue experience, the desire to share cutting edge apparatus and fire-rescue equipment technology with others, the ability to network with their peers to market the products we sell, and a passion for teaching our customers how to use the equipment they purchase from us. They will identify viable leads, acquire new clients, and manage existing clients to maximize sales revenue.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Service new and old customers by selling products. Answer product questions and address concerns of customers. Increase sales revenues, customer base, and profits for the product line in accordance with company objectives, in a specific geographic region.

PRODUCT SPECIALIST SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5-years experience in the Fire and Rescue field
  • Fire and Rescue Product sales experience preferred

Fire Apparatus Technician

Winchester, VA • Full-time • $45,000-$75,000/year

Fire/Emergency Vehicle Technician Position Purpose
This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of customer equipment, company owned equipment and equipment covered under warranty. Pay will be based off of experience

Duties and Responsibilities of the Fire/Emergency Vehicle Technician

  • Complete repairs and perform maintenance on Company fleet
  • Complete repairs on customer equipment in a timely manner
  • Builds knowledge of dealer supported product lines, service standards, and procedures and keeps abreast of all changes in various models of equipment sold and serviced by the distributor
  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Service shop and Factory standards
  • Can perform occasional service calls and overtime work
  • Perform basic field repair and maintenance jobs with minimal supervision
  • Basic testing knowledge of all machine systems
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Develops and employs diagnostic related reasoning skills
  • Examine the equipment to determine if additional safety related or service work is required
  • Assists in the collection of data necessary for efficient inventory control

Skills and Experience of the Fire/Emergency Vehicle Technician

  • Minimum 2-year Diesel Technology, Automotive Technology or Heavy Equipment Technology degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on heavy or emergency/fire equipment preferred
  • Welding and cutting torch experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent or technical school graduate
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Works in an efficient and effective manner
  • Organizational skills with ability to effectively manage multiple projects
  • Must have excellent external and internal customer service skills

Fire Apparatus Technician

Winchester, VA • Part-time • $18 – $40 / hour

Interstate Rescue is in search of a Shop and Road Mechanic for fire and rescue apparatus. EVT and ASE certifications are a plus. The candidate must be able to obtain these certifications as part of the conditions of employment.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Emergency Vehicle Technician / Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance and repair of Emergency Equipment and vehicles and motorized equipment. This person needs to be very detailed oriented, a technician skilled in mechanics. Additionally, this person needs to be versed in fire pumps, valves, preferably foam systems, and both 12 VDC and 120/240 VAC (generators). Hydraulics, both accessory driven (generators, foam systems, pumps) and aerials. Along with general mechanical repair/PM, chassis, engine, transmission, suspension, etc. In addition, the Emergency Vehicle Technician may also be assigned to conduct pre-delivery service on vehicles to ensure excellent working order upon delivery to the customer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Expertly diagnose issues based upon experience, analysis, and testing
  • Maintain leading-edge knowledge of emergency vehicle diagnosis technology, digital manuals, and reference materials
  • Competently inspect, diagnose, and repair issues for emergency vehicle fire pumps, foam systems, valves, and the accessories
  • Adapt to rapidly changing technologies in the automotive industry, as well as in the diagnostics arena Able to obtain Virginia Motor Vehicle State Inspection license within 90-days of hire (persons with a criminal history are not able to get this license) CDL with air brake endorsement preferred
  • Must have hand tools to include up to 1/2″ drive, air tools up to1/2″ drive, electrical diagnostic tools/meters for truck repair, screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, etc
  • Desire to advance in knowledge/skills to include but not limited to attending local and manufacturer training, seminars sponsored by local vendors, and trade show events.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A high school diploma or GED required EVT / ASE certification (or is willing to obtain certifications)
  • Two years’ experience in a dealership or large facility repair organization
  • Strong technical performance record
  • Unrestricted driver’s license and clean driving record
  • An impressive work-ethic Neat, clean, and professional appearance
  • Post-secondary automotive training in Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVTCC) – F1-F8 Fire Apparatus & E0-E4 Ambulance preferred Computer diagnostic experience – OBDII, CUMMINS INSITE, DETROIT DIAGNOSTICS, ALLISON, NAVISTAR, WABCO, CLASS 1, VMUX, and other diagnostic software
  • Any manufacturer certifications from prior employment (EONE, Pierce, etc.) desired
